Needs and Opportunities

In order to further develop our integrative approach and remarkable programs, we must be able to recruit and retain top faculty, support the brightest graduate students, increase the variety of learning experiences we offer to undergraduate students, and encourage innovative faculty research.  Undesignated gifts are extraordinarily important to the continuing success and growth of the Program.  Contributions to the Strategic Fund make it possible to sustain community outreach activities, to creatively expand our interdisciplinary curriculum, to support the career development of our junior faculty, and to meet unexpected needs and challenges.  Strategic fund gifts of all sizes are welcome and needed.  A gift of $50 could help supply a student in a media production course, a gift of $100 could help fund a visiting public arts expert, and a leadership gift of $1000 could help send a class to the new Underground Railroad Museum.  All of these needs have come up this year!

Please consider showing your support by making a contribution to the American Culture Strategic Fund!  And of course, the Program has identified additional gift opportunities.  More information on the possibilities of assisting faculty manuscript workshops, undergraduate curriculum, public outreach, graduate student support, and endowed positions is available, either from American Culture Program Director Gregory Dowd, or from Robin Colgan, Development Office of the College of Literature, Science and the Arts, LSA Building, Suite 5000, 500 South State Street, Ann Arbor 48109-1382, 734/615-6317.
