Provides overall administration of non-academic departmental services & operations, including supervision of professional staff, comprehensive budget management, faculty and staff appointments, sabbatical and leave funding.

Responsible for research, computer & equipment purchases; processes reimbursements for travel and hosting; processes financial transactions; oversees faculty research and gift accounts, processes temporary staff appointments, and personnel time reports.

Provides primary support to the Program Director and coordinates departmental activities, visits, events & standing meetings; administers processes to assure organizational focus and procedural continuity & provides primary support to related service committees for faculty review, promotion and recruitment; faculty award nomination; faculty sabbatical and leave requests; and, faculty mentoring activities such as the Manuscript Writing Workshop.

Provides support to the Director of Graduate Studies and the Graduate program; administers student recruitment process; serves as liaison between Program and Rackham Graduate School; and advises on advancement to candidacy, fellowship opportunities, and dissertation resources.

Provides support to the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Undergraduate program; assists with curriculum scheduling, procedures, and modifications & provides support and information to undergraduate students; responsible for daily operation of the front office, including supervision of work-study office assistants.
