    Professor Lyons (Leech Lake Ojibwe) arrived at the University of Michigan in 2011 after teaching English for several years at Syracuse University and Leech Lake Tribal College. He holds a joint appointment in American Culture and English Language and Literature. He is the author of X-Marks: Native Signatures of Assent (University of Minnesota Press, 2010) and numerous articles on Native American studies.
