Regular Pre-health Academic Advising

Meet with LSA Academic Pre-health Advisors for 30 minute individual appointments. You may also discuss basic pre-health issues with any LSA General Academic advisor. To schedule an appointment, call 734-764-0332.

Pre-health Drop-in Quick Question Advising

No appointment needed! Group-based advising is available throughout the Fall and Winter terms. Bring questions you don’t mind asking in front of your fellow students or just come listen to answers to others’ questions. Not held on holidays and cancellations will be posted on the Pre-health Information Ctools website and Facebook page. Three sessions offered each week:

Winter 2014 Pre-health Walk-in Advising

From 10 - 11 AM we will offer six 15-minute individual appointments that you have to show up for to request. Come a few minutes early, since we will only be able to offer 6 individual appointments each hour. We will also hold group-based drop in advising during that hour, for which there is no need for an appointment.

Pre-health 201

These one-session workshops are intended for students in their second year of pre-health studies and beyond and are open to all students enrolled in any College of the University. These sessions are designed to help you reflect on your activities, curricular choices, and goals as a healthcare professional, in preparation for making well-considered and well-expressed applications. There will be three similar sessions:

January 22nd, Wednesday 12:00 – 1:00 PM G243 Angell Hall

March 13th, Thursday 5:30 – 6:30 PM G243 Angell Hall

Pre-health Course Selection

Group-based advising open to all students, led by an LSA Pre-health Advisor. Ask questions about pre-health classes or just listen to other students' questions (and get insights from students who've taken the class you're wondering about). Feel free to bring your laptop and backpack courses on the spot. There will be two sessions:

Preparing for the MCAT 2015

For all students considering medical school who may take the new version of the MCAT, which will be first administered in Spring 2015. In this one-hour session, led by an LSA Pre-health Advisor, we will discuss a broad range of issues including new topic areas to be tested and the range of courses that address them, as well as the structure of the test and its questions. There will be two sessions:

Are You Beginning to Consider a Career in Healthcare? 

For all students beginning to consider careers in the health professions. These one-hour, drop-in sessions will begin with a short discussion of a theme relevant to those considering a career in healthcare and will be followed by a general question and answer period.

All sessions will be held in G243 Angell Hall.
