  • About

    After pursuing her undergraduate degree at Andres Bello University in Caracas, Venezuela, BegoƱa came to Ann Arbor to study at the University of Michigan, where she received her MA and PhD in Educational Psychology.  She has extensive teaching experience at the college level, at UM, EMU, WCC, and Oakland University.  Among her administrative jobs here at the University, she was the project coordinator for FAIRteach (Faculty and staff Against Institutional Racism) (developing faculty instructional programs on multicultural teaching), and co-director of the GSI Development Program in LSA [Joint appointment for six years].  More than three years as Education and Training Coordinator for the UM Sexual Harassment Policy Office.

    Her interests include creating collaborative learning and teaching environments, multicultural education, student advocacy, and program development and evaluation.

    Currently, LSA General Academic Advisor and Academic Standards Board Member. Liaison to the Department of Romance Languages and Literature (RLL), as well as the Latin America and Caribbean Studies Program (LASC). Member of the following committees: International Student, Professional Development, and Sophomore. UM SD 3/18/02.
