  • About

Michael is completing his Ph.D. in U.S. History at Wayne State University where he has been an adjunct instructor teaching world and U.S. History.  Michael also served as a corporate/public historian, taught social studies at the secondary school, and is a member of the Royal Oak School Board.

Michael has served as a general advisor since 2009 -- and has demonstrated excellent project initiative and oversight (Strategies for Success website and Advise Me Weekly). He also has participated in some very effective collaborations (SLC and WISE workshops and programs for STEM majors), chairs the Student Success Committee, and has co-supervised the training and monitoring of our APAs and GAPAs.  Michael is very familiar with the admission experience of transfer students through his participation in the Admissions Transfer Student Open House and the Admissions call-in programs and also has represented the Newnan Center in years past at Campus Day presentations.  Michael currently sits on the Orientation and Communications committees.

Michael earned his M.A. in American History from George Mason University and his B.A. in Economics from Kalamazoo College.
