  • About

    Susan came to the Newnan Advising Center from Michigan State University, where she had been an instructor in the American Thought and Language program.  She has taught courses in American literature, English composition, and technical writing, at both MSU and UMass-Amherst.  Her specialties include African-American literature during the American Progressive period, and the American hard-boiled detective. At UMass she served as Special Assistant to the Dean of Students and Course Director for Technical Writing for Engineers; she also worked in a previous life as a financial consultant and analyst, and a technical writer.  She joined LSA Student Academic Affairs in June 1999 as a pre-business advisor.  She currently serves as Coordinator of Advising Programs:   Advising Development and Training.
