Study Abroad
The University of Michigan is committed to the internationalization of all of our undergraduate students as it is essential that students develop the tools to excel in an international academic, professional and social world. The University is committed to global engagement both on campus as well as through international experiences. The University of Michigan's Global Portal provides details about the opportunities for all Michigan students whether abroad or here on campus.
Study abroad can be an important part of every undergraduate's educational experience at the University of Michigan. The international perspectives gained through international experiences add a unique dimension to a student's undergraduate program and life perspective. Students will also acquire important skills and experience that can enhance employment opportunities and augment future training in graduate and professional schools.
As an LSA student, you have several options for gaining international experience abroad:
- LSA programs through the Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS)
- U-M programs offered through academic units in LSA and other U-M schools and colleges
- Non-U-M programs (credit granted for these programs is transfer credit)
- Non-Credit programs (i.e., international internships, work abroad, travel)
Click the links below for information about credits earned abroad and how they might be applied to degree requirements and financial aid.
