Michigan Student Assembly *

The Michigan Student Assembly (MSA) is the central student government at the University of Michigan, representing students from every school and college.

Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) *

The Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) is a social justice education program on the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus. As a joint venture of the College of Literature, Science, and Arts and the Division of Student Affairs, IGR works proactively to promote understanding of intergroup relations inside and outside of the classroom.

UM Debate Team *

The University of Michigan Intercollegiate Debating Team was one of the nation's first intercollegiate forensics teams, founded in 1890. From that time until today the Debating Team has excelled in teaching critical thinking skills and persuasive communication techniques.

Be a Peer Mentor (University Mentorship Program) *

make a difference in the lives of incoming students. Each Peer Mentor will be responsible for staying in contact with 4-6 Mentees (students who are being mentored) and one Faculty/ Staff Mentor throughout the Fall semester. Peers will be expected to attend Mentorship planned activities with group members as well as meet individually and/or as a group with their Mentees on a regular basis to help their first-year students get acclimated to life at the University of Michigan.

Be a Resident Advisor, Academic Peer Advisor or Minority Peer Advisor in a residence Hall *

Residence Education in University Housing employs over 250 students in roles as diverse as Resident Advisor, Academic Peer Advisor and Minority Peer Advisor.

Be An Orientation Leader *
Science Learning Center Study Group Leaders

Study Group Leaders play an important role in the Study Group Program. A leader adds value to the groups by serving as a knowledgeable facilitator who assists the group in working together to master course material.
Leaders do not lecture or teach, but rather encourage collaboration and group interaction. All leaders are trained in facilitation techniques and other topics that are critical to becoming an effective Study Group Leader.

The Sweetland Writing Center Peer Tutor Program

The Sweetland Writing Center trains upper-level undergraduates from all colleges and disciplines to serve as writing tutors for their peers. Tutors gain valuable skills in interpersonal relations and written communication as they help fellow students develop as writers. Enrollment in the Program is by application only.
