Peer Advising
Peer Academic Advising Office (PAAO) of LSA *
As a complement to the academic advising services offered through the Advising Center, LSA provides a source of knowledgeable advice and information from a team of experienced LSA undergrads. These peer advisors are trained to assist students with information about courses, basic degree requirements and perspectives on many aspects of academic life and opportunity within LSA. These peer advisors are available for consultation on a regular basis during the fall and winter terms.
Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) Peer Advising
CSP Advising offers Pre-professional Peer Advising in health careers, law, and business.

The Honors Peer Mentors hold study sessions in the Pearlman Honors Commons on Wednesday nights during the Fall and Winter terms, and a variety of special events take place in the Commons throughout the academic year.

HSSP Peer Advisors | HSSP Peer Mentors | HSSP Peer Tutors
Michigan Community Scholars Peer Mentors *
The Peer Mentors help students in MCSP before opening and during Welcome Week. This includes helping with the transition from high school to college, being away from home, and answering UM specific questions. They plan and implement special programs throughout the year and participate in the MCSP Programming Board activities and programs.
Michigan Research Community Peer Mentors
MRC Research Peer Advisors provide in-house MRC research peer advising and project support.
Organizational Studies Peer Mentors *
Peer mentors will advise prospective students, help current students develop their concentration pathways, and much more.
Psychology Peer Advisors *
The Psychology Peer Advisors are Junior and Senior undergraduate Psychology concentrators who are well-informed about the Psychology concentrations and have received training in peer helping skills. Peer Advisors help students analyze and assess their progress in fulfilling their Psychology course requirements, aid students in planning their class schedules, help students declare Psychology as a major, discuss graduate school and career options, and go over research opportunities and options for Independent Study in the department.
Sweetland Writing Center Peer Tutors
Sweetland Writing Center has trained and supervised a select group of upper-level undergraduates to serve as writing tutors for their peers. Because students often feel more comfortable talking about their writing with peers, many prefer visiting tutors rather than faculty. Peer tutors come from all disciplines and are trained to help fellow undergraduates with all parts of the writing process.
UROP Peer Advisors
UROP Peer Advisors provide extensive, personal support to UROP students throughout the academic year. Peer advising encourages UROP students to identify their own research and academic goals and then helps students with strategies and activities to meet these goals. This mentorship enhances the UROP research experience and leads to greater student success and satisfaction at UM.
