COLLEGE 101
The evening will start with a panel of four Michigan students talking about things they wished they had known as first year students. This will be followed up by a series of breakout sessions that will help you survive and thrive in your first year at UM.
Are you nervous about preparing for your first round of final exams? Do you have questions about what classes to take? Do you have questions about how to get involved outside the classroom? Do you want to hear from peers about what they wished they had known in their first year?
Sophomore Connection
The Sophomore Connection is designed to help you make the most of your sophomore year: from finding your concentration, to getting ready for law school or medical school, to developing study skills, to getting ready for a career in business the LSA way.
Events for Juniors and Seniors
Concentration Fair
To assist students in their selection of a concentration, the College sponsors an annual Concentration Fair that gives you the opportunity to talk with representatives from the LSA academic departments about their concentration and minor options.
Study Abroad Fairs
Sponsored by the Office of International Programs, the Fall and Summer Study Abroad Fairs are a key part of the decision making process. Prospective study abroad students get a chance to talk to alumni (fellow students), faculty, and staff from each program. Students can learn about financial aid, transfer credits, and other U-M international resources.
International Opportunities Fair
The International Center hosts this event that brings students and representatives of organizations together to discuss international career options, work/internship abroad opportunities and graduate programs.
Grad School 101
UM faculty from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences will answer your questions and tell you what grad school is like in their discipline. Come hear what they have to say, and decide if graduate school is right for you.
