MiChicagoan

In 1999, Michigan linguistic anthropologists began a collaboration with our colleagues at the University of Chicago (“Michicagoan”) to take advantage of the joint resources, compatible emphases, and proximity of the two programs. The collaboration includes an annual graduate student conference and other activities.

The first graduate student conference took place in Ann Arbor in 1999, with participation by graduate students and faculty from both departments). Meetings alternate between the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan.
