White cloth wrapped around <I>ose</I> tree (baobab tree; <I>Adansonia digitata</I>

White cloth is used to wrap this tree, located near the Elekole's (King's) palace, whenever prayers are needed for the well-being of the town. This tree, associated with the earliest origin of the Ikole-Ekiti, has three trunks representing the three main quarters of the town. White cloth is used to placate the spiritual presence associated with this tree.
