Joint Program in Anthropology and Social Work
I am interested in cultural constructions of health, mental health, and wellbeing. Particularly, I examine intergenerational constructs of wellbeing, as it relates it mental health. I have completed quantitative research in Cambodian populations in California and have completed ethnographic studies with Cambodian populations in Australia, California, Cambodia, Illinois, and Washington.
Research Interests: cultural constructions of health, mental health and wellbeing, culture and cognition, social activism, civic engagement, community organizing, trauma, Cambodians, Southeast Asia, semiotics, motivation, diasporas, immigrants, multigenerational context
