Doctoral Candidate in Anthropology

  • About

I am a Ph.D. candidate concentrating in Biological Anthropology and Paleoanthropology. I previously earned my M.A. in Anthropology at the University of Michigan and my B.S. in Anthropology at Kansas State University.

Broadly, I am interested in how childbirth anatomy has changed during hominid evolution. My dissertation will focus on whether hip morphology differences between Neandertal and modern human females are the result of different birthing mechanisms.

I am also fascinated by hominid brain evolution; paleogenetics; population structure in past hominids; human adaptation and variation; and the history of biological anthropology.
