About Anna Sloan

Scholarly interests include medieval Indian architecture and epigraphy as well as contemporary Pakistani painting and mixed media. Her current manuscript, Between Polity and Culture: the Architecture of Medieval Jaunpur, is on the formation of mosque architecture and epigraphic language in Sultanate India. Among the courses she offers are: South Asian Art and Architecture, Writing about Indian Art, Arts of Colonial India, Art after Independence, Twentieth Century Asian Art, Indian Art in Ritual Context; and seminars on the Taj Mahal, the Hindu temple, India's encounter with Europe, and issues in twentieth-century Asian art.
