ALC Department Scholarships.
The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) has limited funds for scholarships for Tibetan Studies program participants. Applying for these funds is optional, but strongly recommended.

General Application . You will be notified of awards by mail once
decisions have been made by the Committee. Application deadline:
Thursday, December 15st, 2005.

UM Financial Aid.
The UM Office of Financial Aid offers financial assistance for students enrolled in University-sponsored study abroad programs. Please see the Financial Aid Study Abroad website for more information
Freeman-Asia Awards.
You may also want to explore other non-UM sources of scholarships
and fellowships. The Institute of
International Education offers several opportunities through
its Freeman-Asia
Awards for Study in Asia program. Students from our program
have been very successful in receiving awards from Freeman-Asia.
The application for summer funding is typically March 1st.
