Leadership in Non-Profits: Chicago
October 20-21, 2008
During the University’s Fall Break, the Institute sent a small group of Organizational Studies students to Chicago to participate in the first Leadership in Non-Profits Experience. On the first day, students got an up-close look at the day-to-day operations and management of a non-profit organization at their individual placements in different organizations. The participating non-profit organizations were:
• The Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Chicago
On the second day, students interacted directly with a leader within the non-profit field and enjoyed a special luncheon hosted by Organizational Studies Leadership Committee (OSLC) member Andy Lansing. While in Chicago, students also connected with OS Alumni in the area. This unique opportunity was created in partnership with OSLC member Robin Tryloff.
