Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning (University of Michigan)
Housed in the Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning, the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning (MJCSL) has been recognized as the premier national, peer-reviewed journal featuring articles written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and other issues related to academic (curriculum-based) service-learning in higher education. Since 1994, the MJCSL has endeavored to publish the highest quality research, theory, and pedagogy articles related to higher education academic service-learning.

International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement 
The IJRSLCE is a peer-reviewed online journal of the International Association of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE). It is dedicated to the publication of high quality research focused on service-learning, campus-community engagement, and the promotion of active and effective citizenship through education.

Journal for Civic Commitment 
The Journal for Civic Commitment is dedicated to growing and strengthening the discussion around service-learning. Through service-learning experiences students come to appreciate the importance of participating as responsible citizens in community life. Service-learning is the conduit through which colleges help to create an informed, participatory citizenry.

Journal of College and Character 
The Journal of College and Character is a professional publication that examines how colleges and universities influence the moral and civic learning and behavior of students. The journal publishes scholarly articles and applied research on issues related to ethics, values, and character development in a higher education setting. 

Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education (Indiana State University)
The Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education is an online, refereed journal concerned with exploring community engagement and community-based learning perspective, research, and practice. The journal publishes accounts of a range of research focusing on practical and theoretical insights and understanding, in higher education and across the disciplines and professions. There is a focus on case studies emphasizing community engagement and engaged learning practices, methodology, and pedagogy.

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (University of Alabama)
The Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (JCES) is a peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. JCES integrates teaching, research, and community engagement in all disciplines, addressing critical problems identified through a community-participatory process.

Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement
The Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal for the advancement of theory and practice related to all forms of outreach and engagement between higher education institutions and communities. This includes highlighting innovative endeavors; critically examining emerging issues, trends, challenges, and opportunities; and reporting on studies of impact in the areas of public service, outreach, engagement, extension, engaged research, community-based research, community-based participatory research, action research, public scholarship, service-learning, and community service.

Metropolitan Universities Journal 
 The Metropolitan Universities Journal is a quarterly publication intent on helping institutions stay abreast of cutting-edge topics in higher education.

National Society for Experiential Education Journal
The National Society for Experiential Education Journal contains interests of the following areas: internships, co-op, arts, international and cross-cultural educations, service-learning, social justice, and active learning in the classroom.

Planning and Changing: An Educational Leadership and Policy Journal
Planning and Changing: An Educational Leadership and Policy Journal provides a forum for the presentation of peer-reviewed articles including formal research studies using quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies, as well as reflective, theoretical pieces focused on significant aspects of education and schooling relevant to the administrator, community, and the larger public good.

Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement (UNC Greensboro)
Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement recognizes that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks are all encouraged.

Public: A Journal of Imagining America
Public, a publication of the national consortium Imagining America, is a peer-reviewed, multimedia e-journal focused on humanities, arts, and design in public life. Forms including performance, literature, design, sound, historical representation, video, photography, interactive media, and texts are integrated with other types of knowledge to animate and deepen engagement with civic life. The journal encourages public discussion and resource sharing through online and new media, including a multimedia interface to a growing archive of issues and submissions. Public connects disciplines such as the arts in economic development, humanities and social justice, and design and environmental stewardship, and often highlights more than one perspective on its subjects through collaboration with people across traditional divisions of knowledge and from multiple contexts (educational, artistic, business, governmental, neighborhood-based, etc.).
