This seminar provides a broad introduction to biological evolution, the central theory of biology. Students are expected to read the textbook and discuss aspects of their assignments during class. We consider the meaning of "species" and how new species evolve, differences between sexual and asexual species, and why natural selection is believed to be the main driving force of evolution. Classes meet in 2009 Ruthven Museum.
