Primary Instructor:

This course explores important trends and debates in feminist theory since the 1960s. We will examine various ways that feminist scholars have theorized power and difference with regard to gender, race, sexuality, class, and nation. We will also consider critiques of mainstream feminist theories from alternative feminist perspectives, and explore the relationship of feminist theory to political practice and changing historical circumstances.
