ITALIAN 231 with a grade of C- or higher; or assignment by placement test. College or university transfer students with any prior study of Italian must take the Placement Test. Only the placement score and not language coursework completed at a previous school will determine placement.

Primary Instructor:

The theme of the topical ITALIAN 232 is contemporary Italian films. The goal of this course is to further develop students listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as to lead them toward a greater understanding of the Italian culture. The viewing of movies takes place both in the classroom and as an activity to be completed individually. Grading includes regular attendance and class participation, oral presentation, speaking examination, short papers, home assignments, exams, a midterm, and a final examination.
