Classroom placements require eight to twelve hours per week (scheduled in four-hour blocks of time; MWF or TTH combinations). This course allows students to acquire experience working in an early childhood program with preschool age children. Students will be assigned to a specific classroom and work under the direct supervision of the classroom teachers and director of the Towsley Center for Children. Students are required to write some papers summarizing their experiences in the early childhood program as well as integrating these experiences with literature on children's development.

All students must show evidence of a negative TB tine test and have a physical exam from a doctor stating that there is no reason why they cannot work with young children.
