This is a continuing proficiency based course which refines and expands previously acquired language skills in culturally authentic contexts. The course will focus on expanding vocabulary, mastering more complex grammatical structures, and acquiring idiomatic expressions. Students will learn to understand and produce complex sentences with main and subordinate ideas. The focus is on developing formal vocabulary and discourse organization strategies used in written Hindi. The course materials include instructional videos, segments of feature films, short stories, letters, magazine, newspaper, and blog. Activities will be conducted in Hindi and classes will be interactive. The course meets four hours per week.
