Drawing Studio I focuses on drawing as a means of visual inquiry and builds skills for articulating both perceptual and conceptual visualizations. Exposure to a variety of drawing media and processes heightens awareness of what we see and how we see it, and achieves confident and intelligently articulated visual responses. Students work primarily from observation, supplemented by rigorous critique and introduction to historical and contemporary precedents for drawing practice. Offered fall, winter, and spring terms.
