This course is an introduction to the physiology of animals with an emphasis on vertebrates and limited treatment of human physiology as it relates to general physiological mechanisms.
The course is intended for concentrators and pre-medical students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years. The subject matter includes metabolism and thermoregulation, nervous and endocrine system, respiration and circulation, water and ion balance, digestion, metabolism, reproduction, and immune system function. There are three two-hour lectures a week and three in-class examinations.
