Primary Instructor:

This course presents an overview of the primary theoretical frameworks employed by scholars to understand foreign policy behavior. The course’s content and structure will loosely follow the three levels of analysis commonly used in world politics: systemic, domestic, and individual. While the class will not address the foreign policy behavior of any nation in particular, students will have the opportunity to learn from concrete examples of theoretical applications through a broad array of cases presented both in lecture and in the course readings.
