This is the second half of the intermediate level course in Filipino language instruction, which is designed to develop a higher level of linguistic skills (learning the grammar) and sociolinguistics skills that leads to a higher level of communicative competence. Discussions on certain phases of Filipino culture shall also be included in each lesson. Each lesson shall have six components:

  1. reading a literary text;
  2. understanding of words and expressions;
  3. evaluate comprehension;
  4. cultural awareness;
  5. explanations on grammar structures; and
  6. reinforcement exercises, which may be oral or written.
Varied activities such as games, songs, pair work, role plays, individual and group presentations shall be utilized to make language learning fun and interesting. At the end of the course, the students are expected to use effective Filipino in defining and explaining (paglalahahad); describing a person, place, or feelings (paglalarawan), narrating a story (paglalarawan); and arguing (pangangatwiran). A cultural presentation and showcase of talents shall be the final requirement of the course.
