Primary Instructor:

An introduction to the major literary, philosophical, and historical masterpieces of ancient Greece. Completion of GTBOOKS 191 meets the First-Year Writing degree requirement; completion of both GTBOOKS 191 and 192 also gives eight credits toward the humanities distribution requirement. There are two lecture and two discussion periods each week. Readings include Homer, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, Herodotus, Thucydides, and Plato.
