The Division of Kinesiology will be offering two sections of Public and Small Group Communication, SM 101, during spring term. These sections will be available for open enrollment (no restrictions for registration) by students.

However, students who want to register for the fall sections of SM 101 will need to waitlist in the sections not reserved for Kinesiology students (look for an "N" under "Enrollment Restriction"). Students will be notified of override availabily by their curriculum secretary sometime in August.

NOTE: No credit will be awarded towards graduation for LS&A students who have junior or senior standing (55 credits and above).

For students who have less than 55 credits completed (including transfer coursework) prior to the start of the semester when they are able to elect SM 101, the credits for SM 101 can earn credit towards a degree in LS&A so long as the following criteria have been met: "Candidates for an A.B., B.S., or B.G.S. degree must complete a minimum 100 credits of LSA courses, allowing 20 credits on non-LSA course work in the minimum 120 required for the degree. Non-LSA credits in excess of 20 will be included in the calculation of a student's GPA, but will not be counted toward the 120 credits needed for a Bachelor's degree in LSA."
