The course will be concentrating primarily on two topics: German culture and the use of the German language. We will use literary texts as well as newsprint articles on current topics of importance in Germany. We will also view German television news reports and one German film. Parallel to these activities, we will discuss your German abilities and work on improving your grammar and stylistic expression. The course requirements include 6 essays, one oral presentation, and active participation in classroom discussions.
