Using Nachalo as the primary text, this course is intended to take the beginner to a level of basic fluency in all four language skills. This course covers Russian grammar and syntax, equips the students with a basic yet functional vocabulary, and provides practice in speaking, reading, writing and listening. This course is supplemented by videos, audio, and internet resources.

Crs Requirements: Consistent attendance, active class participation, daily homework, short quizzes, chapter tests, and final written and oral exams.

Intended Audience: Beginning language students interested in intensive Russian language study during the Spring or Summer term.

Class Format: The intensive RUSSIAN 123 is the equivalent to the two-semester first year Russian language course. Classes meet four hours a day, five days a week for eight weeks.
