Environmental Sociology is the sociological analysis of nature/society relationships, including individual beliefs and behaviors, technologies, sustainability, and social well-being. This course will provide an introduction to the key issues and themes of environmental sociology from its classical foundation in Malthus and Marx to modern concepts of ecological action and reform. The course will include timely discussions about issues ranging from energy development to agriculture.
