(real time availability for all sections)

V Puti is the primary text for this course, which will enable the student to function relatively comfortably in real-life Russian-language situations. This course reviews and expands grammatical concepts first covered in the first-year Russian courses. The course greatly emphasizes the development of speaking and listening skills. Students read and write texts of increasing complexity, discussing various cultural topics. Authentic language materials (including Russian films) are used extensively; students who have successfully completed this course are ready to consider study in Russia.

Intended Audience: Russian language students who have completed the first year of Russian language study and wish to continue building proficiency.

Class Format: The intensive Russian 223 is the equivalent to the two-semester Second year Russian language course. Classes meet four hours a day five days a week for eight weeks.
