Video Art: Low-Tech/Experimental Stories is a video production class that will focus on low-tech video production, using HD camcorders such as the Flip or Kodak Zi8. The nature of the approach will be geared around low-tech production with these small hand-held cameras and a personal and/or experimental approach to “story.” “Story” being inclusive of non-fiction, documentary, fiction and experimental forms. Students can work individually or in teams. HD files are large, and you should have your own FIREWIRE hard drive, minimum 500 GB. If you are planning to buy a drive, please speak with Ralph Franklin (ralphf@umich.edu) of LSA ISS, before you buy one.
