This class is designed to develop a broad range of skills integral to communicating with motion pictures. Students will work in crews to complete short projects in multi-camera television, video and 16mm film. The class aims to advance skill not only in image and sound production and design, but also in representational strategies central to this work. The aim of the course is to master a basic understanding of the aesthetics and processes of film, video, and television production. Similarities and differences of the various media/approaches will be examined.
