Primary Instructor:

An accelerated ten-week summer course equivalent of ASIANLAN 125-126. A thorough grounding is given in all the language skills in this course. The oral component aims to provide students with the speaking and comprehension skills necessary to function effectively in practical situations. In the reading/writing component, Hiragana and Katakana and 145 Kanji are introduced. Application required – contact department office.

Note: This course is offered through the LSA Summer Language Institute. Students will register for Summer term, but the course will meet for 10-weeks, beginning June 4 to August 13. Admission is by permission of instructor only. Interested students wanting to take the course for tuition/credit should email the instructor with their UMID, School/College, language background (if any), and reason for taking the course.
