The course will help students in learning and developing Urdu language proficiency. The learners will be introduced to the usage according to contexts and situations. The classes would be interactive.

To develop speaking skill, students will be encouraged to speak in Urdu most of the time. They will be familiarized with the simple and basic sentences of Urdu. The use of language in a specific situation and its relationship with culture will help students to learn the proper usage.

For developing listening comprehension, students will provided with quite a few listening exercises (audio and video files) for listening practice. There will be four/five dictations in the class to help improve listening and writing skills.

For reading and writing, students will be given assignments in the class to read silently and loudly, and asked to read and write simple and small passages related to a particular situation.

Successful completion of the course will result in understanding native speaker’s language in certain basic situations and being able to communicate with them accordingly. Using correct forms of the tense suitable to the situation or theme, students will be able to:

  • describe their room, house, school, city, country;
  • invite someone to attend a wedding and/or birthday party, accept or politely decline the invitation;
