Primary Instructor:

Intended for students who already have some familiarity with the politics, society, and history of the Middle East, this seminar offers an opportunity to read and critically examine in a seminar format original research on such topics as political leadership and governance; elections, political parties, and voting; religion and politics; women and politics; and international relations and international conflict. The seminar does not undertake to provide a broad overview of Middle East politics but rather offers an opportunity for in-depth discussion of original research on selected topics.

This course is in the Comparative Politics subfield.

Course Requirements:

Each student will also design and carry out an original research project dealing with one of the topics covered in the seminar.

Intended Audience:

Seniors majoring in Political Science.
