Primary Instructor:

We will survey the major authors of Roman literature from its beginnings through the end of the Republic. The course will 1) help you gain speed and facility in translating Latin of various periods and genres, and 2) introduce you to central issues in the rise and development of Roman literature.

Course Requirements:

2 exams; presentation; short paper

Intended Audience:

1st and 2nd year grad students; advanced undergraduates, with permission of instructor
