PSYCH 111 may not be included in a major in Psychology or a major in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. Students in PSYCH 111 are required to spend five hours outside of class participating as subjects in research projects. F, W, Sp, Su.
Repeatability:
May not be repeated for credit.
Primary Instructor:

An introduction to psychology as a broad survey course which explores the various theoretical bases for the understanding of human behavior. Students will learn about the biological processes of behavior, sensation and perception, learning and memory as well as examine the theories of personality, psychopathology, cognitive and social development. Practical applications and contemporary topics will also be explored.

Course Requirements:

Course Requirements include three non-cumulative exams (multiple choice and short answer) and three applied written assignments of 3-5 pages in length.

Intended Audience:

PSYCH 111.061 is only available for students enrolled in the U-M School of Nursing program.

All other students must register for PSYCH 111.060 or another Intro Psych lecture (111-001, 111-030, 111-070, 112-001).

This is a lecture only format course.
