Primary Instructor:

This course is a graduate level introduction to the field of social psychology. The readings provide examples of classic and contemporary approaches to a selection of topics which are approximately representative of the field, with particular emphasis on social psychology’s unique contributions to theory and method. Topics include the power of the situation; hot and cold biases and emotions; person perception, social comparison, and attribution; stereotypes and prejudice; and evolutionary and cultural influences.

Class Format:

Each week one session will be mostly lecture and the other will be discussion.
