In this course, you will learn the diverse history, practices, and ideas of three major religious traditions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The class is designed to give you a foundation so you can understand and evaluate current events and cultural products like films, art, and novels; take more advanced classes about these traditions; or read more on your own about them.
Course Requirements:
Assignments include several short writing projects, a midterm, and a final. Attendance and participation in section will figure as a part of the course grade.
Intended Audience:
This is an introductory course: it is not necessary for students to have any previous experience in the study of religion. Everyone is welcome.
Class Format:
Two 90-minute meetings and discussion section each week.
