Primary Instructor:

This hands-on, interactive course is specially designed to train students to be peer facilitators in the ALA 170: BLI Leadership Lab course. Students will learn facilitation skills, BLI Leadership Lab content, project management and develop the skills and confidence they need to grow as leaders. All peer facilitators will gather the first seven weeks to learn the necessary content and skills to co-lead a section of ALA 170 during the second half of the semester. Through role playing, group exercises, self-reflection, and group and instructor feedback sessions, peer facilitators will learn the skills necessary to successfully lead ALA 170. Experiences leading their peers in the Leadership Lab will help these peer facilitators be more confident and successful in their work on campus, in their community, and in the world.

Course Requirements:

All classes mandatory. Regular participation in seminar, team and individual assignments outside of class.

Intended Audience:

This course is only available for fellows of the Barger Leadership Institute who have been chosen to be Peer Facilitators

Class Format:

Two-hour seminar, one day a week for half the semester with associated group work and individual reflections outside of class
