PHRMACOL 612 uses a combination of textbook and literature readings and classroom discussions to provide students with an understanding of the different classes of drugs used to treat infectious diseases and cancer. The course focuses on the mechanisms of drug action, the basis for selectivity and therapeutic applications. Traditional and novel approaches to therapeutics will be discussed, as well as the role of drug resistance and strategies for its management.
