A directed study that offers an opportunity for students to explore an area of or topic in political science not covered in a regularly offered course.

Course Requirements:

To be determined by each faculty supervisor. Work difficulty and amount produced should match 300-level political science courses. Suggested ten pages of writing (or equivalent) per credit hour.

Intended Audience:

Students majoring in Political Science.

Students should have the faculty member they are working with contact the Political Science Department to request a student application and to request student permissions.

Class Format:

Independent; to be determined by faculty supervisor.

This course is a conventional Independent Study course with the student doing a significant amount of written work on a research paper or "thesis" for credit.
