Primary Instructor:

This survey course will introduce students to key issues in the contemporary scientific investigation of psychiatric disorders and psychological distress. It will provide a foundation for the critical examination of our current understanding of the bio-psycho-social causes, phenomenology, and treatment of the major psychiatric disorders and related mental health problems.

Course Requirements:

Participation in both weekly lectures and sections will best prepare students for 3-4 exams and 2-3 writing assignments. The textbook costs over $100. Copies will also be reserved at the library.
