This is a course for students on the job market, The first month is devoted to preparing materials for the application package: Vita, statements of research and teaching interests, and cover letter, and dealing with recommendations. The content of the next few weeks varies depending on the interests of the class, and may cover topics such as Business schools, Liberal Arts vs. R01 Universities, Nonacademic jobs, Postdocs, elevator descriptions of research, dual career issues, and others. When schools start contacting the students, we move to discussions of the interview process, the job talk, and the negotiation process, At this time some sessions are devoted to practice job talks,
