This music theory lab focuses on the three basic elements of music, rhythm, melody, and harmony, through music reading, notation, singing, and software, with particular emphasis on experiential learning. The class is divided into two sections according to ability and experience: Section 001 beginning to intermediate, Section 002 intermediate to advanced. Students should enroll in the section of their choice, with final placement being determined by the instructors. This is a required lab course for those taking RCHUMS 350; however, it can be taken by itself. Advanced students in RCHUMS 350 may be exempted from taking this lab by permission of the instructor.
