This class is a collection of topics focusing on Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Topics such as El Dorado, la coca, and Andean textiles recognize and represent the geographic, cultural, and historical similarities and differences of the societies that come to be known as the Región Andina. Students will engage with authentic objects in class and in on-campus exhibits, and participate in hands-on activities. Students will propose and develop a project that involves creating “objects” for our own conceptual museum of the Andean Region.
